New York Bridal Fashion Week is the most anticipated week in the entire wedding industry. Designers debut their latest collections to buyers and media influencers every October & April in New York City. Some designers showcase their collections on luxurious runways while others, have intimate bridal pretensions. Between the inconsistent Fall and Spring weather, public transportation, and the long days, it's important to wear something makes you look and feel your best. But what exactly should you wear and pack if you want to look professional yet comfortable? After five years of attending bridal fashion week, these my biggest fashion and accessory tips that will make you instagramable and comfortable.
A Power Suit
Anyone who knows me knows I'll rock a suit at any chance I get. Bridal Fashion Week is always in October & April so suits are perfect because fall and spring in New York is never consistent. Within a week the weather can change from sunny and 65 degrees to rainy and 40 degrees. Pair a suit with a perfect classic pump and you are ready for a fashion show or a buying appointment.
An effortless accessory
I wear contact lenses 95% of the time, but to switch up my look, I decided to rock my glasses. Last Bridal Fashion Week in April, I wore my glasses with a black suit and received so many compliments! I honestly wore my glasses because I went from my 4 am flight straight to 7 hours of back to back appointments. Even though I was so comfortable, I still received so many compliments. Even if you feel dorky, rock your glasses anyway. It may take you out of your comfort zone. I paired my glasses with my all time favorite lipstick 'Divine Wine' by L'Oreal® Paris.
A little black dress is always needed for Bridal Fashion Week. The days are long so I always rock my LBD on the days I want to catch a little more sleep in the morning. A classic black dress is effortless and always looks good. We are working from 8 am to 6 pm and then late dinners that follow so sleep is not really in the bridal market schedule. I always like to take my black dress to the next level with fantastic accessories. Whether you dress more street style or preppy, a LBD at bridal fashion week is definitely something you should pack.
A light coat
Four years ago, I invested in a blush pink coat from Zara and it was the best decision I have ever made. Us Florida girls get chilly so a light coat is perfect from day to night. Blush is also a fantastic neutral because it pairs so well with every color from black to blue. The light coat also completes an outfit and elevates any look.
Stay tuned to see what Tali, Roberta, and myself wear to Bridal Fashion Week! I haven’t figured out exactly what I am wearing yet, but I’m thinking about wearing this suit from Zara.
