How did you & your partner meet? : Victor and I have gone to school together since elementary school. To get technical, we actually met in 2nd grade, at Talbot Elementary in Mrs. Redways class. We became best friends in 8th grade and he asked me out in September of 9th grade.

Where was your first date? : Olive Garden. My grandma, Billie Bob, (you met her at the store once) took us on the date because we were too young to drive and didn’t have a license.

How did your partner propose? : We went on an adventurous trip to California with the goal to climb Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. First spent some time in San Francisco, site seeing around town, going to Alcatraz and etc. During the site seeing Victor is constantly setting the camera up on the tripod to get lots of pictures with the two of us. On the afternoon our last day in San Fran, ( the following morning we leave for Yosemite) we go to Explore Muir Woods. We get slightly lost on the way and pull over to a pretty spot to check out a gorgeous view of the water. We were located at Muir Beach Overlook. Outcomes the tripod (he had that thing out constantly so I was used to it by this point.) I’m looking around and he’s setting up the tripod, we take a few different pictures in different spots and then he says oh let’s do this spot too! The background is perfect. The camera is on a self-timer and it’s shooting away. No one around. Just us to. He looks at me and says “you know I love you more than anything in the world right?” I smiled and said I love you too. Then he got down on one knee and said “will you marry me? “. After 12 years together you have thought I saw this coming... I didn’t. With tears in my eyes and a giant smile, I said yes! It was one of the happiest days of my life!

What was your dress shopping experience like? : My experience at the Bridal Finery was beyond amazing. The staff goes above and beyond to make you comfortable. The updo, the real boutique in your hand, and their expertise in dresses make them one of a kind!

What did you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?: Thank the lord above for my planner, Karen. She organized everything and made the event perfect, painless, organized and smooth! She made me aware and aware of many things/potential craziness. A planner is crucial! She kept me in the loop and ahead of everything before it happened. Literally angel from above.

Where was your wedding? What did you decide on that space?: St. Augustine, Florida. The Treasury on the Plaza. I am very much an old soul and this venue is just that. Vintage, charming, timeless and classy. All of which I wanted to incorporate into the wedding.

What's your favorite memory from your event? : At the very end of the wedding, the guest were lined up outside for our grand send-off and victor and I was alone in the venue for a private last dance. The song playing was “The way you look tonight “ by Rob Stewart. I will never forget looking around the empty venue, covered in empty drink glasses and empty tables. Even though the room was now empty we could see the fun that had just happened. The love that surrounded us in the room still felt very much there. It was also a moment I got to have with just victor to be able to really soak in the moment of our event. I almost did not do this private dance but I’m so glad I did. It was my favorite part of the evening

What is a 'must-have' for brides on the wedding day?: Spare shoes!!! I loved my shoes but my feet were in so so so much pain when I got home.

How would you describe the overall feel of your event? : I had old music (Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, and many others) playing. Old venue. It was a very much an old soul timeless event. Not Gatsby but just timeless chic.

What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides? : Do a little a lot.
I made lists of music and would add to it when I saw something I liked. Pinterest’s boards help a lot!! But once the decision is made (dress, floral decor and etc) delete any extras idea from the board and no more snooping! If you keep pinning different bridal bouquets then it will make you change your mind.

Where was your honeymoon? : Caymans.
