Malibu Beach Engagement for Real Bride, Alexia!
We may have already featured real bride, Alexia’a magical wedding day, but the magic actually began on the beach in Malibu, California before they said “I do” in Puerto Rico! These photos of Alexia and Daniel’s engagement shoot were just too gorgeous to not feature on our blog. How did you & your partner meet?: We met while attending Rollins College!
Where was your first date?: At the Winter Park Movie Theater with in-theater dining. A tradition we still try to keep close to heart every Friday!
How did your partner propose?: Although I'm known to plan all of our trips, Danny surprised me with an engagement during our Malibu Wine Safari. The safari consisted of a few wine stops as well as some animals that we got to see. After an afternoon enjoying the tour, Danny had planned that I would have to use the bathroom at the last stop - which was 100% true. The last stop was on a hilltop, next to the chateau that the owner uses as his personal office. While I was using the bathroom inside, Danny set up two wine barrels with endless photos of us traveling the world together and asked all the guests on the trip to act surprised and film/photograph the moment. When I came out, to my surprise Danny whisked me away to the barrels and the tear-works started. At that moment, looking at all our memories Dany asked me to travel the world with him for the rest of our lives and be his wife.
What was your dress shopping experience like? : It was a dream. I can honestly not tell brides enough how important it is to feel comfortable and enjoy this experience. It is definitely one to remember for a lifetime.
What did you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?: Things happen for a reason. If things are going terribly wrong, let it go and come up with a better plan.
Where was your engagement? Why did you decide on that space?: Our engagement was in Malibu, California, and we took our engagement photos as Matador State Park in Malibu.
What's your favorite memory from your event?: Walking over to the beach during golden hour. It was a bit chilly, but honestly that sunset was like no other!
What is a 'must have' for brides on wedding day? : A smile, it is your time to be happy and shine!
How would you describe the overall feel of your event?: Our photographer did an amazing job in directing us during our shoot. Since this was our first professional photoshoot, we were sooooo happy that we got the opportunity to work with someone so talented and with so much experience. Our photos came out spectacular thanks to him!
What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides?: Plan the wedding of your dreams - everything is possible with the right team. Trust your team and guide them through YOUR vision.
Where was your honeymoon?: Abu Dhabi, Seychelles & South Africa - it was quite the dream!
