How did you & your partner meet?: We met online, but we attended the University of Florida at the same time. It was just fate waiting for us to find each other at just the right time. :)

Where was your first date?: Walter and I fell for each other after the most perfect first date at Cafe Murano. We both had so much in common: being the eldest sibling, 90s pop culture fans, but most importantly, our love for the Florida Gators. Five hours later, we both left feeling like there was something super special about the other (plus we closed the restaurant down).

How did your partner propose?: After 3 years, and many adventures together, Walter decided that it was time to pop the question, but he was unsure of where to do it. He wanted the perfect location. Lucky for him, I was planning a fabulous trip to New York City. Walter had never been, and the school I teach at was on winter break. The city holds a lot of special memories for me. However, the most important reason is that my parents got engaged in the city. The magical day finally came, and I honestly had no idea. It was February 13, and like always, Walter had a plan! I thought it was so smart to celebrate Valentine’s Day early knowing all the restaurants and venues would be packed the following day. Walter took me into Brooklyn, and I was told we would grab drinks before going to dinner. The next part of the evening would change our lives forever! We took an elevator up to the top of Empire Stores (where there really was a bar), but Walter wanted to first “show me the view.” It was there that the Brooklyn Bridge came into view, and Walter got down on one knee. I was stunned, excited, and ugly crying. Walter had arranged for a photographer, who was capturing the moment. While taking pictures, Walter leaned over and asked, “Who do you want to tell first?” I promptly responded, “My family.” Of course, Walter being the best fiancé and planner in existence, made it happen with my parents and childhood best friend coming into view. The rest of the weekend was spent celebrating in New York City!

What was your dress shopping experience like? : It was one of the best parts of the wedding planning experience. Thank goodness for Roberta and my mom! My mom is the reason we found The Bridal Finery. She knew that I wanted to have a unique, special experience, where I didn't feel like "just another bride." Roberta, and the whole team at The Bridal Finery, made us feel so welcome and part of the family.

What did you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?: It is so important to get your venue, caterer, dress, photographer, and flowers crossed off your list first. Then re-evaluate your budget to see what you have left for the smaller things.

Where was your wedding? What did you decide on that space?: Still working those details out. :)

What's your favorite memory from your event?: From our engagement, the best memory of course was Walter proposing! But a close second was when my parents and childhood best friend appeared out of nowhere.

How would you describe the overall feel of your event?: Casual elegance

What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides?: Wedding planning can be stressful and unpredictable, but if you find yourself getting too caught up in it all, take a step back and remind yourself what your wedding is really about – you marrying the love of your life!

Where was your honeymoon?: Still working those details out. :)
