How did you & Ryan meet?
We went to different high schools, but met through mutual friends. We have been together over 10 years, with 9 of those years being long-distance!

Where was your first date?
Our first date was to see Iron Man 2, after a lengthy interrogation of Ryan by my parents (we were in high school!)

How did Ryan propose?
Ryan proposed in January of 2020 while at his family's beach house in Fort Myers. It was just the two of us and our dogs, but his family was able to watch thanks to the Ring video camera!

What was your wedding dress shopping experience like?
It was stressful until we entered the Bridal Finery! The ladies at the Bridal Finery made me and my family so comfortable and excited for our appointment. After my purchase, every visit to the Bridal Finery for accessories and alterations was just as exciting!

What bridal accessory was your favorite?
My overskirt, I loved having almost 2 dresses in 1!

What do you love most about your wedding venue?
Everything at the Hazlehurst House was perfect, but the best part was the staff! Our venue was all-inclusive so we didn't have to worry about dealing with a bunch of different vendors. Leslie was our coordinator and she was so accommodating, even with me planning from out of state and during a pandemic!
Also, there were so many beautiful locations for pictures even though we stayed at the same venue all day long!

What is one thing you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?
I wish I knew to be more flexible and that everything will work out the way it is supposed to, especially when trying to plan during a pandemic.

How would you describe the overall feel of your event?
Our event was romantic, personal, and intimate while also being an excuse to party hard (thanks to COVID and over 10 years of waiting!)

What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides?
Try to enjoy the planning process, even when it gets overwhelming. You will miss it once the day is over!

Where will your honeymoon be?
We went back to Fort Myers Beach, where Ryan proposed, for a mini-moon. We hope to go to Europe for a more adventurous honeymoon when we can travel again!

What are you enjoying most about newlywed life?
I enjoy waking up next to my husband everyday. After 9+ years of long distance, that is something I don't want to take for granted!
