Real Bride, Michelle wears a fitted Ines Di Santo wedding dress to garden wedding in Captiva Island

Congratulations Michelle and Derek!

The Bride looks stunning with her bridal party dressed in blue.

Our real bride, Michelle, is a go-getter in every sense of the word, especially when it comes to her love life. When her future husband, Derek, came waltzing into the bank she worked at, she made sure it was her who got to help him with his banking…and sweep him off his feet in the process. As soon as he left she had added him on Facebook, and from there, a love story emerged and their journey to their wedding day began. Read more on Derek and Michelle below!

How did you & your partner meet? : I was managing a banking center and Derek came walking in. I would normally point clients in the direction of someone else on floor to help but I wanted to help him. We talked and found out that we knew the same people and we went to two rivalry schools. I made a point to look at his hand to see if he was taken. As he left, I immediately went on FB and friend requested him. Before he even took off out of the parking lot, he accepted. We have been inseparable since and now we are Husband and Wife!!!!

A beautiful ceremony, outdoors, at Captiva Island

Where was your first date? : Our first date was at Seasons 52.

How did your partner propose? : He proposed in the most beautiful lit up town in Breckenridge, CO.

What was your dress shopping experience like? : It was a dream any girl wants to experience. The very first dress that I tried on was mine!

What did you wish you knew before you started wedding planning?: Consider other venues and do not rush to pick the one.

The beautiful scenery at Captiva Island.

Where was your wedding? What did you decide on that space?: We had our wedding at the South Seas Island Resort in Captiva Island FL.

What's your favorite memory from your event? : It was definitely the ceremony! I was in a zone looking at my husband and nothing else mattered at the time. Sharing the best moment of my life with people surrounding us and celebrating our love!

Off to the reception!

What is a 'must have' for brides on wedding day?: You are going to need wine and lots of it . My nerves were shot and wine helped settle my nerves.

How would you describe the overall feel of your event? : It’s a feeling that I will never forget. I look at pictures and love to relive that day. It brings tears of happiness. It went by so fast and every bit of it was perfect. Nothing else mattered but him and I, and the love we have for each other.

Beautiful cake cutting photo at the bride and grooms reception!

What wedding planning advice do you have for other brides? : I was given these words of advice prior to the wedding, “If anything goes wrong, do not go to the Bride (me) and tell them. Let someone else take control of any hiccups.”

Where was your honeymoon? : We went to Hawaii, and I enjoyed every second with my husband. I can’t wait to return.

A beautiful exit by the bride and groom!
